@aronnov Absolutely not.
They didnt win though
wasn’t it common practice for teams with any honor to always go for it if they’re the home team and play for the tie if you’re the road team?
@Ranteal Well, the next day The Gainesville Sun (Gators’ hometown newspaper) printed (and I quote directly): “This tie is a loss. A numbing, heartbreaking, unbelievable, unthinkable loss. There is no mistaking that feeling.”
I was at this game…..and it was the greatest college football game I have ever seen.
@CEShannVfB um fan cowboy fan celtic fan and red sox fan since 1971 no bandwagon jumper here
@Obelisk2290
Congrats, you may now be known as King of the Bandwagon fans. Have fun with that title sweetheart.
GREATEST GAME EVER MY FRIENDS THE GOOD OLD DAYS
@smn475 Not much just a 58 game home streak, 5 national championships with 4 coaches, a Heisman, 6 players taken in the first round of the 2002 draft. However no wide rights or left, Sorry
Wow….. a tie. Is it really a comeback if you tie? I guess that counts…..
Moreover, your argument is pointless. This was before there was OT (and this game was one of the defining reasons why NCAA instituted OT in the first place). So, with having no OT, this was considered a miracle comeback. Oh, hey not to mention it was the standing Greatest Comeback in NCAA history, you can add that to the list of FSU accomplishments below. So, again I pose to you, what have you got? Tim Tebow? A sweater vest?
@Obelisk2290 Haha alright buddy, we brag about a 54-0 undefeated home streak (one of the longest in NCAA history to this day), 2 national championships in 1 decade, one of the all-time winning-est head coaches in NCAA history, more NFL first round drafts than most schools could ever dream to produce, and two rivalries which decided the national championship for 13 years straight, regardless of when they played in the season. What do you have to brag about?
@Obelisk2290 fag
Only FSU would brag about a tie
I have to say that FSU won this game. Because a few weeks later they defeated Florida 23-17 in the Sugar Bowl. So 31-31 plus 23-17 equals 54-48. FSU wins
the end of this game was 31-31 gators lose
I HATE the gators. GO SEMINOLES!!!
sounds like you did! NOLES suck!
@quailmail Does it look like I made a fucking joke?
@SSGx386 hahaha. thats a joke
@venomscurse3 because they didn’t have overtimes then
There was no OT back then in NCAA
GO ‘NOLES!! A NEW ERA BEGINS 9-4-10. CP7 FOR HEISMAN!
why was it a tie, and it didn’t go into overtime?
LOL,the 2001 hurricanes beat one top 5 team.The 2008 gators beat 3 teams who were #1,and 10 bowl teams…10!They played in more games,which include a conference title game.Undefeated only means something,if you have the resume.Miami doesn’t,playing in a basketball conference.Its on the level of boise st. undefeated seasons. lol
