what recent florida receiver has done well in the nfl besides harvin who was a do it all guy? he was throwing to hernandez and cooper, good receivers, but not best the best receivers in college football
@ianharwood its not a “gimmick” offense it is the future. NFL coaches run the same thing. every offense in the NFL is 80 percent the same, afraid to do something different. McDaniels wont be. Bill Bellicheck sends his assistants to learn college offenses. All Meyer did was take aspects of Joe Tiller’s offense and mix it with triple option type stuff. Guess who played for Joe Tiller at Purdue under hise “gimmick” offense? Drew Brees, id say hes doing quite well in the NFL running similar stuff
@ianharwood people will hear about Tebow this year. before the 07 season Bellicheck sent then assistant McDaniels down to learn Meyers offense, which he incorporated aspects of it into the Pats offense in 07, which they set records, Brady couldn’t run so they didn’t do the running qb aspect of it, but now McDaniels is with Denver, and drafted Tebow, so you will see more of the running aspect. McDaniels says he has certain “packages” for Tebow next year, will be like his role in 06 for gators

I wasnt to happy how denver got him in the first round cuz they coulda got him in the second probably but none the less i really hope he can succed in denver cuz he has something alot of players dont these days, and thats Heart !
@coloradoavs3434 Yes, and the talent disparity was ALWAYS in UF’s favor. Look at this year’s draft, for instance. Florida’s tight ends were probably faster than other teams’ wide receivers. Basically, Tebow was throwing to the best wide receivers in college football against college-level defenses. He is not a polished quarterback and he will NOT find immediate success in the NFL. However, if he works hard he may end up being a good NFL QB – in the distant future.

okay here’s the deal. sorry gator fans but you won’t hear diddly squat about tebow for probably the next five years. by then he may have developed into a good quarterback, but until then he is seriously lacking as an NFL quarterback. that’s what cheesy gimmick offenses do to potentially great quarterbacks.

Don’t get too excited, but he reminds me a bit of Steve Young out of college, he’s a competitor, he improvises, and he finds a way to win. McDaniels will give him stability and let Tebow do the rest. I can’t wait to watch him in the pros

as i watch more and more of tebows highlights the more and more i hope the vikings pull the trigger and get him with harvin and rice he could shine in 2011 after favre retires , and to the people who knock on tebow this is all coming from a lsu fan

man he is a beast! i cant wait until he is doing what he does best in the nfl. most underrated player coming into the draft in my time, he is worth top 10 but would rather see him play with a team that could work him in there until he is ready for full-time.
